About Us
Youth Becoming Engaged, Inc. is a public-safety partner that works alongside community agencies such as law enforcement, schools, hospitals, and social services.
Together, we focus on connecting with young people, building supportive relationships, and providing education that helps them stay engaged in their communities through our broader work.
Through these partnerships, we offer youth practical learning and open conversations about community and self-advocacy, mental health, interdependence, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, leadership, and harm reduction—core elements that represent the “E” in ENGAGED.
Our program runs for one year and includes three phases. Youth take part in one-on-one and small-group boxing and conditioning sessions, life-skills training, and trauma-informed coaching. We also provide transportation to reduce barriers and support consistent attendance.
Our Goals
At Youth Becoming Engaged INC, our goal is to empower young adults in and aging out of foster care to become independent, confident, and thriving members of their communities with sustained community support. We provide education, health and wellness programs, social-emotional learning, and practical life skills training to equip youth with the tools they need for self-sufficiency.
Our Mission
Youth Becoming Engaged INC provides young adults who are currently in the foster care system, as well as those aging out of foster care in New Jersey, with education, health and wellness programming, social-emotional learning (SEL), and life skills training to empower then toward self-sufficiency.
